Upgrading InfiniMetrics
Upgrade types
Upgrades are performed on an installed instance. All the data and configuration remain in place and carry over to the new version.
Changes in some versions of InfiniMetrics might prevent in-place upgrades, and require installing a new instance and migrating the data.
In addition, if an organization discontinues the use of some operating systems or infrastructure, they might need to switch to a different infrastructure.
- Upgrade - a simple upgrade of InfiniMetrics without special handling.
- Online migration - a fresh installation of InfiniMetrics with migration of the data and configuration from the old instance to the new one, while monitoring continues.
- Offline migration - a fresh installation of InfiniMetrics with migration of the data and configuration from the old instance to the new one, with a gap in the monitoring.
- RHEL OS upgrade - an upgrade of the operating system without an upgrade of InfiniMetrics. This requires some handling of InfiniMetrics after the OS upgrade.

See the links in the following table for the required upgrade actions.
