This page provides instructions for installing Host PowerTools.

Following the installation of Host PowerTools, there is a need to prepare the host. For instructions see: Host readiness

Linux, Solaris and AIX Installation instructions

  1. Go to the HPT download site:
  2. Select the relevant OS.
  3. Use the commands according to instructions. 
  • For example:

    sudo apt-get install -y host-power-tools
  • Note: for Solaris 10, the CSWcurl package should be installed before the Host PowerTools installation.

Windows Installation instructions

Prior to installation on Windows Server 2012 R2, install the following Windows updates in the following order:

  1. KB2939087
  2. KB2975061
  3. KB2919355
  4. KB2999226

Download and run the installation package.

  • Complete the wizard steps.

Once completed Host PowerTools is installed and available from the Start menu.

  • Note: on Windows Server 2016, the link from the Start menu will work only after a reboot. In order to access Host PowerTools, provide the full path to the binaries.
