About this task
This task disables a share of a filesystem or of a filesystem snapshot. When a share is disabled, users and groups cannot use it to access the filesystem or snapshot, and current users are disconnected.
- The share is not deleted, and can be re-enabled.
- When the share is disabled, users lose access to the data.
Users immediately lose access to a share when it becomes disabled.
Prerequisites
- A share of a filesystem or of a filesystem snapshot
Instructions
- In the GUI, click the Datasets icon on the left toolbar, and select the Datasets tab.
- Do one of the following:
- For a filesystem: Select the filesystem name, and click the Shares tab.
- For a filesystem snapshot: Expand the filesystem tree, select the filesystem snapshot name, and click the Shares tab.
- Right-click the share, or open the action menu in the settings column of the share to be disabled, and select Disable Share.
- Approve the warning message.
The share is disabled. - To enable the share, repeat this procedure, and select Enable Share in the action menu.
