Description

The target system may have an undetermined state under the following scenario:

  1. A node is deactivated on the target system. Note that it needs to be deactivated ("phased-out") and not in a "failed" state.
  2. An active-active replication is created between a source system and the target system that's already in the state described above.
  3. A host (or a cluster) is mapped to the target volume on the target system.
  4. Host starts issuing write I/Os before replica initial synchronization has been completed.

Workaround

Do not map a host or a cluster to an active/active volume on the target system, or avoid mapping it completely if easier, until initial synchronization is done, which can be identified by the REPLICA_INITIAL_SYNC_ENDED event.

Fix & resolution timeline

INFINIDAT will fix this issue in an upcoming maintenance release.
