A note on storage requirements
The InfiniMetrics virtual appliance requires, by default, a 30GB virtual hard disk that is suitable for storing data of up to 4 InfiniBox systems with about 50 monitored entities (hosts, volumes) each. If these limits are surpassed, more storage will be required. Along with the added storage, it is also recommended to increase the VM's CPU allocation and RAM allocation to handle the increased load.
An alternative strategy is to increase the polling interval of the monitored entities. By increasing this interval from the default 10 seconds to 30 seconds, it is possible, for example, to triple the number of supported monitored entities without requiring additional disk space.
How to increase the disk space:
- InfiniMetrics Sizing Guide
- Add extra capacity to InfiniMetrics versions prior to 2.2
- Expanding the disk space of the InfiniMetrics appliance
