Version 4.3

What's new in this release

  • IMX-1007 InfiniGuard: add chart displaying port throughput

Improvements

  • IMX-1032 The infinimetrics delete CLI command will remove the system specified, but leave the historical data unless specifically requested
  • IMX-1029 Ensure the proxy server name is valid in the call-home settings dialog
  • IMX-1016 InfiniGuard: the physical capacity chart now includes a line for metadata
  • IMX-1010 Events sent by InfiniMetrics about high loadavg now take into account the number of CPUs
  • IMX-994 Provide more details in events that InfiniMetrics sends to warn about high resource usage
  • IMX-981 The average block size chart is now also displayed in aggregate views
  • IMX-956 The legend for aggregate charts now display the total or average value across all aggregated entities
  • IMX-954 InfiniGuard: allow time range selection in the Dedup Engines, Shares and Partitions lists
  • IMX-878 Security patches for CVE-2018-3665

Fixed issues

  • IMX-1015 Specifying special characters in the call-home proxy username or password settings, may cause the proxy access to fail
  • IMX-1001 InfiniMetrics API issues an error when requesting the last page of data for an entity that has no data
  • IMX-999 In some cases, after upgrading InfiniMetrics it is no longer possible to access VAMI on port 5480

Version 4.2.2

  • Release date: 2019-01-21

Improvements

  • IMX-955 Average block size chart - the "total" line was renamed to "average"
  • IMX-950 When displaying entities that have a QoS policy, show only the chart lines that are attributes of that policy
  • IMX-910 System Totals view now remembers the user's previous choice (SAN/NAS/Both)

Fixed issues

  • IMX-998 Fix a problem that prevented cleanup of old data
    • InfiniMetrics retains 12 months of data, and then deletes it. Due to a problem, old data was not cleaned and disk space was not freed up for storing new data.
  • IMX-966 Add support for InfiniGuard systems with only one active Dedup Engine
  • IMX-964 InfiniMetrics no longer collects FC port statistics for InfiniBox v2.2.x
  • IMX-958 Using the API to get InfiniGuard metrics results with an error
  • IMX-951 Fix a problem on a system's main page, where the time range is sometimes "custom" instead of "last hour"

Known issues

  • IMX-1015 Specifying special characters in the call-home proxy username or password settings, may cause the proxy access to fail
  • IMX-1001 InfiniMetrics API issues an error when requesting the last page of data for an entity that has no data
  • IMX-999 In some cases, after upgrading InfiniMetrics it is no longer possible to access VAMI on port 5480

Version 4.2.1

  • Release date: 2018-08-30

Fixed issues

  • IMX-953 The FC ports graph displays activity on the wrong ports

Known issues

  • IMX-964 InfiniMetrics no longer collects FC port statistics for InfiniBox v2.2.x

Version 4.2

  • Release date: 2018-08-28

What's new in this release

  • IMX-905 New graph - internal local latency vs. total local latency
    • The system-level SAN latency graph can be switched to internal vs. total latency mode. This new graph allows identifying delays caused by the hosts or fabric.
      • This is an experimental graph.
      • This feature applies to InfiniBox 4.0 and above
  • IMX-851 New graph - average block size
    • An average block size graph was added below the existing IOPS/OPS, throughput and latency graphs.
  • IMX-824 Added support for InfiniGuard 2.0
    • As of this release, InfiniMetrics monitors InfiniGuard 2.0. InfiniMetrics collects capacity and throughput metrics on all entities (shares, partitions, DDE and the entire system). Customers who monitored their InfiniGuard systems using an InfiniMetrics version lower than 4.2 will now be able to properly monitor their systems. Performance metrics of the underlying InfiniBox that was collected using prior InfiniMetrics versions will no longer be available.
  • IMX-769 Exporting data from entity tables (hosts, volumes, etc.) is now supported
  • IMX-768 Quick navigation between related entities
    • Right-clicking on an entity's performance graph provides navigation options:
      • From a volume to the host or cluster it is mapped to
      • From a volume to its pool
      • From a filesystem to its pool
      • From a pool to its filesystems or volumes
      • From a host to its mapped volumes
  • IMX-630 HTTPS scheme enforced
    • InfiniMetrics now supports and enforces the use of HTTPS scheme with TLS 1.2. A new menu in the main view allows for changing and reviewing the certificate used by the server.
  • IMX-606 Exporting data from aggregate graphs is now supported
  • IMX-579 QoS maximum operations and throughput are displayed on volume and pool performance graphs as a dotted line
  • IMX-412 New graphs - FC ports
    • A new page is available showing graphs of IOPS, throughput and latency per FC port.
      • These are experimental graphs.

Improvements

  • IMX-922 Improved accuracy in calculation of latency metrics
    • This may result in slightly higher latency numbers compared to previous versions of InfiniMetrics.
  • IMX-869 Security patches for CVE-2018-3639
  • IMX-857 Disable the deprecated TLS 1.0 protocol
    • TLS is used for InfiniBox secure management communications as part of HTTPS. TLS 1.0 is considered deprecated protocol version, and this fix disables it. TLS 1.2 is supported.
  • IMX-849 An annotation is displayed on the graphs when metrics collection stops
  • IMX-848 In case of an authentication error, retry every 5 minutes for up to 24 hours before giving up
  • IMX-794 When exporting data of a specific entity, the filename now includes the entity type
  • IMX-791 Reduce the time it takes to add a new system to InfiniMetrics
  • IMX-746 Disable access to port 5489

Fixed issues

  • IMX-923 When a pool contains datasets with intermittent I/O, the pool performance graphs may be inaccurate
    • Intermittent I/O on datasets causes the corresponding pool performance graphs to jump erratically between zero and non-zero values, giving it a saw-tooth look.
  • IMX-817 Creating new entities in InfiniBox causes a short discontinuity in the graphs
  • IMX-786 In some cases cluster metrics are not collected after upgrading from InfiniMetrics 3.0.x to 4.1

Known issues

  • IMX-953 The FC ports graph displays activity on the wrong ports

Version 4.1.1

  • Release date: 2018-01-30

Improvements

  • IMX-786 In some cases cluster metrics are not collected after upgrading from InfiniMetrics 3.0.x to 4.1
  • IMX-784 The "Test Connection" button in the call home settings dialog does not work.
  • IMX-766 Read performance charts show wrong data for NAS.

Known issues

  • IMX-923 When a pool contains datasets with intermittent I/O, the pool performance graphs may be inaccurate
    • Intermittent I/O on datasets causes the corresponding pool performance graphs to jump erratically between zero and non-zero values, giving it a saw-tooth look.
  • IMX-857 Disable the deprecated TLS 1.0 protocol
    • TLS is used for InfiniBox secure management communications as part of HTTPS. TLS 1.0 is considered deprecated protocol version, and this fix disables it. TLS 1.2 is supported.
