Test Description
This test checks that volumes are not automatically mounted upon arrival.
By default, the volume manager in Windows attempts to mount all block devices. This test changes this behavior, as it is not suitable for SAN environments.
This applies only to Windows server that are not part of a Failover cluster.
This test case fails if:
Auto-mount is enabled.
This test case passes if:
Auto-mount is disabled.
This test case is skipped if:
Failover clustering is used.
How-to fix this test
Automatic fix
The automatic fix uses Windows APIs to disable the auto-mount.
Manual fix
The auto-mount behavior can be changed by the automount
utility, see the relevant documentation on TechNet.
This change will cause Windows Failover Cluster validations to fail. For Windows Failover Clsuters, the 'automount' option must be set to enabled.
