This article applies to OpenStack versions prior to Ocata.

InfiniBox volume driver for OpenStack cinder is currently fully supported in RHEL based hosts (including CentOS), and in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

For information about how to install the driver on other platforms, please contact Infinidat Support team.

Installation

  1. In order to install the driver on a RHEL based host with openstack already installed, run:

    curl -s http://repo.infinidat.com/setup/main-stable | sudo sh -
    curl -s http://repo.infinidat.com/setup/openstack-stable | sudo sh -
    sudo yum install -y host-power-tools infinidat_openstack

    In order to install the driver on an Ubuntu host with openstack already installed, run:

    curl -s http://repo.infinidat.com/setup/main-stable | sudo sh -
    curl -s http://repo.infinidat.com/setup/openstack-stable | sudo sh -
    sudo apt-get install -y python-infinidat-openstack
  2. Make sure the file ~/keystonerc_admin exists and contains the following content:

    export OS_USERNAME=<your_openstack_username>
    export OS_TENANT_NAME=<your_openstack_tenat_name>
    export OS_PASSWORD=<your_openstack_password>
    export OS_AUTH_URL=http://localhost:5000/v2.0/
    export OS_REGION_NAME=RegionOne
    export PS1='[\u@\h \W(keystone_admin)]\$ '

    We use these credentials for accessing cinder API from within our driver.

  3. Restart the Cinder service. This step differs by OpenStack distribution type. Consult your OpenStack platform documentation on service management.

Upgrade

  1. In order to upgrade the driver on a RHEL based host, run:

    curl -s http://repo.infinidat.com/setup/main-stable | sudo sh -
    curl -s http://repo.infinidat.com/setup/openstack-stable | sudo sh -
    sudo yum makecache; sudo yum update -y infinidat_openstack

    In order to install the driver on an Ubuntu host:

    curl -s http://repo.infinidat.com/setup/main-stable | sudo sh -
    curl -s http://repo.infinidat.com/setup/openstack-stable | sudo sh -
    sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install -y python-infinidat-openstack
  2. Restart the Cinder service. This step differs by OpenStack distribution type. Consult your OpenStack platform documentation on service management.
