This document describes the steps needed to be taken for preparing a Solaris host for volume provisioning. Host Power Tools currently doesn't run on Solaris, therefore these steps are manual.
We currently support Solaris 10 and Solaris 11 hosts.
Step-by-step guide
A Solaris host is basically ready for volume provisioning without any further configurations. The following steps make sure the HBA/Multipath drivers are configured correctly, and explain how to provision volumes and list the available luns/paths/disks on a host :
- Checking software dependencies.
- Setting HBA driver's attributes and global settings for best practices.
- Setting up Multipathing.
- Checking FC connectivity.
- Provisioning InfiniBox Volumes.
