Requirements
- VMware vCenter Server v5.x
- ESX server capable of running the appliance with 2GB vRAM
- IP address for the appliance (DHCP supported)
- IP connectivity between the appliance and the vCenter server, ports: 443
- IP connectivity from the vCenter client(s) to the appliance, ports: 80, 443
- IP connectivity from the appliance to the InfiniBox systems, ports: 80, 443
- Fiber Channel zoning and connectivity from the ESX server to the InfiniBox systems
- vCenter client running on a Windows host with Internet Explorer 9 or newest
Instructions
- Configuring the vCenter runtime settings
- Administration > vCenter Server Settings from the menu. Click the Runtime Settings tab. The runtime settings allow running multiple vCenter Servers in the same environment
Provide the following runtime settings:
Managed IP address: The vCenter Server system IP address
Name: The fully qualified domain-name of the cVenter Server system
Inserting an invalid vCenter Server system IP address results in an incomplete installation
- Administration > vCenter Server Settings from the menu. Click the Runtime Settings tab. The runtime settings allow running multiple vCenter Servers in the same environment
- Deploying the OVA template
- Download the appliance from our package repository
Open the vCenter client and select File > Deploy OVF Template from the menu
On the Source pane, browse to the installation file that you downloaded on Step 1 above
Click next
Review the details on the OVF Template Details pane and click Next
Review the Name and Location of Host PowerTools for VMware. Click Next
Select a host, or cluster on which the template will be deployed
Select between thick and thin provisioning formats, all supported by Infinidat
Click Next on the Service Binding screen
Review a summary of the deployment settings and click Finish
The template is deployed.
Close the vCenter client and open it again to allow the Infinidat plug-in to be loaded
